01-07-17 Everyone can Sing
Holtwood Workshop: Jackie May

Were you told as a child that you couldn't sing? Do you only ever sing in the car? Or maybe in the shower? Does the idea of singing give you the collywobbles? Would you like to CHANGE THAT?!

We can all sing! It's often just a case of having confidence, and learning a few simple vocal techniques. This workshop will use powerful techniques from NLP to help you build your confidence and let go of old negative beliefs, then give you practical experience of letting your voice be heard, at a pace that is right for you. And you will find that as your voice begins to be clearer and stronger, you will feel that way too!

03-06-17 Pain Relief Without Pills. Emm-Tech Workshop
Ellingham Workshop: Nic Wood

Emm-Tech is a short course available to the general public offering a small, focused set of skills and knowledge which help to ease pain and discomfort. We are able to share with you moves for neck, shoulders, arms, legs, chest and lower back; tight or painful areas can be released almost instantaneously. A course for those with no prior experience or learning or for those already qualified in Body Work of any kind to go towards CPD points, it really does become a fantastic tool to add to your existing repertoire.

Each short course is of eight hours duration, taught in two four-hour sessions, at the end of which you will receive a free DVD to revise your learning of pain relief without pills. The sessions will be a mixture of demonstration, explanation and hands-on practice, in a friendly and informal atmosphere. All of the Emm-Tech UK tutors are experienced therapists, who have completed the six modules of The Emmett Technique and have worked personally with Ross Emmett.

The valuable skills learned on this course do not equate to a professional qualification and care must be taken to ensure that a qualified practitioner is consulted as necessary

29-04-17 Song
Cranborne Workshop: Sammy Hurden

A day of song with Sammy Hurden, to lift the spirits and bring out the sunshine! Sammy will be teaching songs with blues/pop/world flavours and will be including some of her own songs too. Her aim is to choose material that will be uplifting, moving, fun or even quirky!

Sammy has been leading workshops and choirs for many years, and has worked in hospitals, schools, prisons, youth centres always amazed at the transformation that music can bring. She currently leads Luminos Choir in Poole and The Freedance Choir in West Dorset

22-04-17 Inner Qi Gong
Cranborne Workshop: Mick Duncan

Inner Qi Gong evolved from ancient Taoist movements, Tibetan Yoga and the theory of Developmental Movement. The meridians of Chinese Medicine are exactly the pathways along which babies learn to move their bodies. When babies develop a movement they are not only learning to move, but also building their minds.

Inner Qigong uses these archetypal movements to help the different parts of the body to work together and to develop an integration between mind and body. Everyone will get something different on this journey of exploration and will become more aware of where they are in relation to areas of their life. These areas are roughly called Embodiment, Movement and Relationship; these words are but a sketch of a larger drawing and the experience is best before the theory. Both theory and experience then have a chance of feeding each other

19-11-16 Energy Workshop
Cranborne Workshop: Tim Swanson
A day to nourish our energy as we go into winter. Often life's demands can cause us to become overtired, and can drain our energy on all levels. Stress and tension accumulate in our bodies, draining and restricting our energy.

Using gentle enjoyable movement with Yoga, lovely simple breathing techniques and meditation, we can boost our energy. As we let go of tension we increase the flow of energy and blood, bringing much relief to our bodies and minds. We can begin to understand more about our energy, the things that drain it, and how we can replenish it..

29-10-16 Acupressure for Stress Relief

  • Learn about the healing and transforming power of acupressure

  • Take home skills you can use for the rest of your life
The Seva release is designed to effect deep change in the body, mind, emotions and spirit.

21-10-16 Mindfulness
Colehill Workshop: Penny Nicholas

Mindfulness is a form of meditation that cultivates awareness of the present moment. It is about being awake and aware and living in the present rather than dwelling in the past or anticipating the future.

People often experience the following benefits from mindfulness:

  • Improved ability to cope more effectively with both short and long-term stressful situations
  • Increased ability to relax and experience calm
  • Greater energy and enthusiasm for life
  • Improved self-confidence and more acceptance of life as it is today.

During our day together we will have the opportunity to experience the varied ways in which we can bring mindfulness meditation into our daily life. There will be formal meditation practices that involve sitting, lying and walking. We will also look at mindfulness in our daily activities. Please wear comfortable clothing including a warm pair of socks. You will need to bring with you a floor mat and a blanket. My hope is that the day provides you will an insight into what mindfulness is and how it may help you. You will receive a CD with a couple of guided meditations on it. I look forward to meeting you.

08-10-16 NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner Training
  Facilitator: Sarah Frossell

Over 7 weekends, in a friendly, supportive group environment, you will discover simple and powerful ways of enhancing what you do in every area of your life, personally and professionally. You will find yourself involved and participating from the beginning. We use what we teach. Our methodology is centred around Accelerated Learning, with participative group interaction, as well as the presentation of theory.

You will be expected to apply what you have been learning by creating a project. What you choose to do for your project and how you go about it will be very much up to you and the way you like to learn. We only suggest that it should involve an area that is important to you, something which can be either personal or work-related so that you can really enjoy putting it together.

We know that people learn most effectively when they are relaxed and having fun, so come prepared to join in and learn in ways you probably never imagined were possible at school!

24-09-16 Sing Your Heart Out
Cranborne Workshop: Sarah and Gilo
Sarah Pennington and Gilo return to lead a day of vibrant songs to nourish the heart and bring joy to the spirit. Their singing days are always popular and fill up fast so it's best to book early. Sarah and Gilo teach in a way which is engaging and sensitive, particularly to any new to singing, and their workshops involve humour and a spirit of fun. They always bring out the best in a group of singers. The songs will be drawn from many sources, some upbeat and jazzy, some gentle and meditative; something for everyone. This year the focus will be on songs for the heart.
You can expect to smile a lot, maybe even cry a little, make connections with others through the power of the voice, and leave feeling your body electric with harmonic energy. No need to read music or even think of yourself as an experienced singer to enjoy this day. Just bring your voice and help us raise the rafters!

02-04-16 Relaxing Workshop
Cranborne Workshop: Tim Swanson

How do you relax? and what do you consider to be relaxing? If we ask our muscles to relax, will they?
Letting Go and how do we let go? What is a really good way to let go?
What happens when we let go and what benefits are there in relaxing?

The aim of this workshop is to understand how we can relax ourselves, in a really good way, using gentle movement, breath and awareness. Relaxing is essential and yet it is surprising how little time we find for it.
Tim Swanson has been practising acupuncture and yoga for many years
